How it works
This is for a pinchable pocket that stays when weight is stable. It is not a weight-loss treatment. The rare side effect above is listed because it is real, and you should hear about it before booking, not after.
Who does it
A technician trained on the device, under our medical director's supervision.
Time and sessions
Each session: 35-75 minutes per area.
One or two sessions per area. Changes show slowly, over two to three months.
Downtime
The area is numb, tender or bruised for one to three weeks.
Common side effects
- Numbness, tenderness and bruising for weeks
- Rare but important: the treated fat can grow larger instead of smaller (paradoxical adipose hyperplasia), which may need surgery to correct
Who should wait or skip it
- You have a cold-related condition such as cold urticaria, cryoglobulinemia or Raynaud's
- You are pregnant
- You are looking to lose weight: this is not weight loss
