Dark spots
Sun spots, freckles that have darkened, and uneven tone from years of sun.
Most dark spots on the face are sun damage that surfaces over the years. A chemical peel lifts some of the pigmented cells away; a non-ablative laser facial targets the pigment underneath. Either one only lasts with daily sunscreen afterwards.
Some dark patches are not sun spots at all. Melasma, for example, can get darker with the wrong treatment, and a spot that changes shape, color or size belongs with a dermatologist. Our medical director reviews anything that does not look like ordinary sun damage before we treat it.
Results vary from person to person. The consultation is where we tell you what is realistic for your skin.
