Medical oversight

Who is responsible for your treatment

Tennessee law asks every medical spa to name its medical director and say whether that physician is board-certified. Here is ours, and what the role means.

Medical Director: Helena Voss, MD, Physician. Board-certified in Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology, a member board of the American Board of Medical Specialties. On site Tuesdays and Thursdays, reachable by phone whenever treatments are performed.

What the medical director does

Our medical director is a physician with an active Tennessee license and an active practice in Tennessee, and she accepts responsibility for every cosmetic medical service performed here. She sets the protocols, reviews treatment plans for injectables and laser, and is on site Tuesdays and Thursdays. Whenever a treatment is performed she can be reached by phone.

Laser procedures are performed under her supervision, as Tennessee requires. Injectables are given only by our nurse practitioner or by the medical director herself. Facials and peels are done by licensed aestheticians following protocols she has approved.

Board certification, stated plainly

Under Tenn. Code Ann. 63-1-153, a medical spa names its medical director and states, in its signage and in all of its advertising including this website, whether that physician is certified by a board that belongs to the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association. A physician who is not certified must say so in the same places. Our medical director's status is in the line above and in the footer of every page.

The Tennessee medical spa registry

Every medical spa location in Tennessee registers with the Board of Medical Examiners before it opens and renews every twelve months. The Board keeps an online registry that lists each spa with its medical director, license number and certification status. You can also look up any Tennessee physician or nurse practitioner on the Department of Health's license verification service.

Where treatments happen

Only at our registered address. We do not offer injectables at parties, events or house calls, because Tennessee registration covers one address and because a clinic is where problems can be handled safely.

What we do not treat

We treat cosmetic concerns. Rosacea, active acne, eczema, a mole that changes, and any other skin condition belong with a dermatologist or your primary care doctor, and we will tell you so.

The clinicians behind every plan

Every injection and every laser session happens under the name below, not under the brand.
